Betty Wiggins

Betty Jo Kelly Wiggins, 90, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at The Landings of Georgetown. 

Mrs. Wiggins was born on April 12, 1934, in Mobile County, Alabama. After the family moved to Georgetown, she graduated from Winyah High School where she met the love of her life, Alton B. Wiggins. 

They were married for 67 years before he passed away in 2022. She worked in the office at International Paper Company for several years before becoming a full-time homemaker. Mrs. Wiggins was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Georgetown. She found great joy in being outdoors with nature and animals. 

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Reames (Randy) of Georgetown; a son-in-law Jim Brock, Jr. of Pawleys Island; two grandchildren, Ashley Reti (Casey) of Dublin, OH and Will Brock of Georgetown; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Reti and Henry Reti, both of Dublin, OH; a sister, Peggy Kelly Kaletsky; a brother Donald Kelly; a brother-in-law, Lonnie Littlejohn; and cherished nieces and nephews, Brenda, Karen, Brian, Kelly, Larry, and Mark.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased in death by a daughter, Grace Wiggins Brock and a sister, Doris Littlejohn. 

Funeral services will be held graveside at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, with Revs. Keith Wall and Robbie Sox officiating. 

The family will greet friends at the graveside after the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to St. Frances Animal Center in Georgetown.
