Arthur F. "Ratt" Moore

Arthur Froster “Ratt” Moore, beloved husband of Peggy Jean Thomas Moore, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on January 25, 1946, in Andrews, he was a son of the late Hillary Dolan Moore and the late Nellie Elizabeth Swails Moore. Faith was the cornerstone of Mr. Moore’s life, a devoted member of Antioch Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he actively contributed his musical talents of playing the guitar with the congregation. A man of diverse interest, Mr. Moore also found joy in racing and working on cars. 

At the heart of Mr. Moore’s existence was his deep commitment to his family. Time spent with loved ones was his most treasured pastime. His devotion to his family and the countless moments of joy he shared with those he loved will be forever cherished. 

Survivors include his wife of Andrews; five children, Arthur F. Moore, Jr. (Charlotte) of Andrews, John D Moore (Gayle) of Nesmith, Micky M. Newton (Jared) of Andrews, Tonya M. Newton (Jody) of Andrews and Christopher E. Moore of Andrews; nine grandchildren, Mindy Thomas (Justin) of Georgetown, Wes Moore of Nesmith, Cindy Nixon (Zack) of Andrews, Aaron Jolly of Andrews, Amber Jackson (Coley) of Gresham, Casey Moore (Ashley) of Georgetown, Cody Newton of Andrews, Colby Newton of Andrews, Dillon Moore of Nesmith; eight great grandchildren, Daylin Nixon, Anna Thomas, Koyta Moore, Camley Moore, Dallas Nixon, Carter Thomas, Ayla Carr and Coleson Jackson; three brothers, Lavern Moore of Andrews, Bobby Moore (Diane) of Andrews and Herbert Moore (Desi) of Andrews; two sisters, Patsy Locklair (Keith) of Andrews and Delynn Wilson (Bubby) of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a brother Ernest Moore; five sister, Dorothy Jordan, Inell Goude, Sandra Howard, Vicky Martin and Judy Moore; and special friend, Dorman Walker.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Antioch Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Friday at the church.
