Arlene J. Ferretti Wallace, 84, widow of Jerry Max Wallace, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at The Medical University of South Carolina.
Born on April 22, 1937, in San Francisco, CA, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Giovanni Ferretti and the late Mary Virginia Cano Ferretti. Mrs. Wallace was a selfless woman who spent many years as a nurse, providing the best compassionate and loving care she could. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them, always being a devoted wife, mother, “grammie”, sister and aunt. Mrs. Wallace was a woman of faith and enjoyed reading her Bible and witnessing to others.
Survivors include seven children, Darlene D. Strong of Pawleys Island, Royce C. Johnson, Jr. (Linne) of Sparks, NV, Vicki M. Delaney (Mark) of Murrells Inlet, James A. Johnson of Pawleys Island, Robert L. Johnson (Judy) of Pawleys Island, Kay Adames (Abram) of Houston, TX, and Rodney Wallace (Patricia) of Waterloo, IA; 14 grandchildren, Justin Whitaker(Cindy) of Murrells Inlet, Brooke Henderson (Kyle) of Willis, TX, Taylor Johnson of Sparks, NV, Rachel Thornton of Jacksonville, FL, Julie Schwab (Eric) of Centerville, TX, Cody Miles (Amy) of Georgetown, TX, MacKenzie Delaney of Myrtle Beach, Steven Delaney of Conway, Anthony Johnson (Harrison) of Georgetown, Kaleb Johnson of Westminster, Jordan Bethea (Nick) of Fayetteville, AK, Peyton Johnson of Nashville, TN, Dana Scott (Jamie) of Houston, TX, and Kelly Adames of Houston, TX; ten great-grandchildren, Paige Schwab, Trayce Schwab, Harper Johnson, Hudson Johnson, Kaiya Bethea, Devon Bethea, Max Scott, Casey Scott, Nicole Wallace, and Christopher Wallace; three sisters, Dolores Tatton of Pawleys Island, Eva Cabercias of Sacramento, CA, and Linda Evans of Half Moon Bay, CA; one brother, Anthony J. Ferretti, Jr. (Delfina) of Pacifica, CA; four special nephews, Michael Johnson, Sr. (Keely) of Pawleys Island, Pat O. Johnson, Jr. of Noble, OK, Michael Johnson, Jr. of Houston, TX and Andrew Johnson of Pawleys Island; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Royce C. Johnson, Sr., and a nephew, Cody Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, November 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Sherrill officiating. Burial will be private.
A reception will be held immediately following the church service in the fellowship hall.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and doctors at MUSC for the loving and spiritual care they provided to Mrs. Wallace.
