Gracie Ann McCormick Richardson, 62, beloved wife of Douglas Leroy “Doug” Richardson, passed away Monday, April 19, 2022, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on October 17, 1959, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Ray McCormick and the late Elease Jordan McCormick. A pillar of the Georgetown Community, Ann was a righteous warrior of God. She was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was able to touch many lives through the children’s puppet ministry. Always wanting to do for children, Ann and her husband would volunteer at dances and put on puppet shows throughout the community.
Ann had a great love for people and was always willing to help someone in need. She lived life to the fullest and could lite up a room with her contagious smile and fun-loving personality. Ann enjoyed spending her time outdoors, whether it was in the pool or going to the beach, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family. Ann leaves a legacy of HOPE and of “HAPPY DAYS” for all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Douglas Richardson, II (Brandy) and Dillon Richardson; her “queens”, Lydia Taylor Richardson, Kaylee Ann Richardson and Skyla Rae Richardson; one sister, Karen McCormick Anderson (Mitch); one brother, Thomas McCormick (Crystal); seven nephews, Mitchie Anderson, II (Amanda), Jimmy Anderson (Mika), Seth McCormick, Justin Lawshe, Bill Lawshe, Eddie Richardson and Caleb Hayes (Lindsey); two nieces, Bethany McCormick (Dylan) and Tiffany Baker (Paul); father in law and mother in law, Calvin and Nathalee Richardson; a brother in law, Edward Richardson (Karen); two sisters in law, Paula Lawshe (EW) and Kim Standridge; and numerous cousins.
