Francis “Abbie” Zurcher, 77, husband of Marilyn Jeanine Cox Zurcher, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, at his home. Born on September 5, 1944, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Robert Zurcher and the late Louise Wilson Zurcher. Mr. Zurcher was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and was an US Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He enjoyed operating heavy equipment and fishing. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Kelly Cusack, Micki Zurcher and Kelsey Zurcher of Elmira Heights, NY; a honorary son, Meek “Snowman” Tucker of Elmira Heights, NY; three grandchildren, Anna Grace Cusack, Kenny Sharpe and Jazmin Sharpe; and one great grandson, Jeremiah Tyree He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bud Zurcher, Harley Zurcher and William Zurcher; and two sisters, Carolyn McClain and Elizabeth Calhoun A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday, November 8, 2021, in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
