Obituary of James Earl Jacobs, Sr.

James Earl Jacobs, Sr., 65, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on July 28, 1952, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Earl Jacobs and the late Bena Mae Lambert Warzon. Mr. Jacobs attended Georgetown Church of God and was a US Marine veteran. He was a retired lab technician from International Paper Company with more than 25 years of service. Mr. Jacobs enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and going to the mountains.

Survivors include three children, Gigi Avant (Jamie) of Georgetown, James Earl "Jamie" Jacobs, Jr. of Andrews and Laura Best (Buddy) of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Dustin Ryan Wilson, Elizabeth "Tori" Avant, James "Luke" Avant, Jr., Lily Best and Lani Best; one sister, Vickie Jones (Henry) of Georgetown; three brothers, Richard M. Jacobs (Doris) of Georgetown, Stafford Warzon of College Station, TX and Ronnie Warzon (Carolyn) of College Station; one special niece, Rosemary Eaddy (Dax) of Georgetown; two special nieces, Nicole Lee (Jim) of Georgetown and Emily Tilton (Bubba) of Andrews; three special nephews, Hadrian Jones (Hilary) of Georgetown, Patrick Cribb of Georgetown and Adam Jones (Brittanie) of Georgetown; a very special great niece, Kaitlyn Jacobs of Georgetown; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one nephew, Bubba Jacobs; and one niece, Dawn Jacobs.

A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Eastside Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family will receive friends from 5-6 PM Thursday at the church.
