Obituary of Glenna Miller Tippett

Glenna M. Tippett, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on June 5, 1930, in the Pleasant Hill Community of Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Rev. James Reginald Miller and the late Eunice Pope Miller. Ms. Tippett was a member of First Baptist Church where she formerly sang in the choir and Singing Christmas Tree. While living in Durham, NC, Ms. Tippett worked as a nurse at both Durham Hospitals and later served as an in-home care nurse in Georgetown. Ms. Tippett enjoyed reading, singing and caring for others. Survivors include a son, James Geary Harrelson of Myrtle Beach; two grandchildren, Kimberly H. Markease (Donnie) of Catawba and Cynthia H. Hanna (Craig) of Andrews; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and the entire Harrelson family. She was preceded in death by a son, L.H. Harrelson, Jr.; three sisters, Vencie Achesinski, Evelyn Moore and Bertha Moore; and two brothers, David Italy Miller and Reg Kinley Miller. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Friday, March 10, 2017 at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
